A great playing, true vintage J-50 with an interesting mod - the previous owner mounted a Claricon pickup to the soundhole & added three control knobs, although only the middle one really seems to do anything, which is volume control. A 1/4" input jack was also added to the bottom side of the body. Overall the guitar has really cool look to it with an authentic vintage vibe. Professionally set up & ready to play straight out of the case.
Cosmetic Condition: Good, honest play wear, typical of its age - various nicks, chips, dents & dings; scratches, weather checking & some finish wear.
Neck: Mahogany neck with cream side-dots. Dark Brazilian rosewood fingerboard with mother of pearl dot inlays. Frets show some wear, but have plenty of life in them. Kluson Deluxe strip tuners work great & turn easily. 1 11/16" nut width; 24 3/4" scale length. Neck is straight & truss rod works fine.
Body: Round shoulder dreadnought in natural finish. Solid spruce top with 3-ply cream binding. Rosewood bride with mother of pearl dot inlays. Adjustable creramic saddle & cream end pins. Large tortoise pickguard & multi-ring rosette. Solid mahogany back & sides with single-ply cream binding. Guitar weighs 4 lbs 14.7 oz.
Electronics: After-market Claricon soundhold mounted pickup with volume control. The other two knobs really don't do anything.
Case: Vintage Gibson chipboard case included - a little beat up, but still serves its purpose.
