    About the book:
Pomeroy combines intricate detail about the construction of the Grand Prix cars with the regulatory environment and industry climate to create an authoritative and engaging explanation of the evolution of the Grand Prix car.
By using standard formulae for expressing engine performance and using timing data from the same race track, Pomeroy is able to make comparisons between cars built under different rules to highlight where advances were made.
He also closely documents the development of chassis and suspension systems.
All of this is done in an easy-to-read style which makes even the most complex mechanical arrangements easy to understand.
Contains a wealth of cutaway drawings and photographs, with many fold-out double-page plates.
More technical coverage and pull out cut-away drawings of famous 1930’s Grand Prix cars than any other book.
During their time, its easy to see why these books were incredibly well researched and technically superior in content, as Pomeroy was an engineer himself.
Compared to Volume One, Volume Two is a more technically focused book.
The content is oriented towards engine design evolution and power curves.
A few cars of note that are covered include: Ferrari 4 1/2 litre, BRM, and Formula II cars 1948-53.
Plate diagrams included are for the Alfa Romeo Type 158/9, 1952 BRM, BRM engine, Bugatti Type 59, 1953 Ferrari Formua II and the 1914 4 1/2 litre Vauxall.
