"Pilote, Che Gente..." by Enzo Ferrari, copyright 1983, printed privately in September,1984 by Industrie Grafiche Arbe, Modena, Italy. Hardcover, without dust jacket as issued, 359 pages, no index, 11 1/2" x 9 1/2", copious illustrations in colour and b&w, text in English. Printed on heavy stock with an embossed "prancing horse" figure on the inside cover page. From a run of only 2500 copies.
Though Ferrari himself authored a number of books in Italian during his life, this is surely the best and, luckily, was published just before he died.  It's a real treat then for English readers to have it in translation. Enzo Ferrari had literally "been there and done that" in motoring and motor racing, even before WW1.  No one else could bring to life the great cast of personalities from the first 7 decades of competition.
The pages are loaded with hundreds of unpublished photos, drawings, paintings, letters and ephemera surely from Ferrari's personal archives.
This copy is in excellent condition overall with clean sharp cover boards, save for light bumps to the right side top and bottom corners.  Inside, the binding is tight and the pages are clean and bright.
