-Glycolic Acid
Glycolic acid is a highly coveted ingredient for sun-damaged skin and highly coveted for brightening and even skin tone. As a quick and effective chemical exfoliant, it stimulates cell turnover, weakening the bonds between dead skin cells so they slough off evenly, revealing fresh, new skin underneath. Glycolic acid belongs to the AHA (alpha hydroxy acid) family of exfoliating acids, along with lactic and malic acids. Being the smallest molecule of all AHAs, it easily penetrates the skin and acts quickly.
