    Description

    Antique flyswatter, little-used, but with lots of provenance.  Just under 16 inches in length over-all, the handle bears advertising in red lettering for the "Brotherhood of American Yeoman" of Des Moines.  Online research points to an insurance company of that name operating in Idaho in the early 1900's.  The other side of the handle provides additional provenance in the form of the signature of
    "J.L. Probst" along with a stamped and written address in Long Beach, CA.  See our gallery for condition and a close-up of the hand-stitching of the fabric frame around the screen of the swatter.
